Facial Recognition Access Control

Facial Recognition Access Control

William Lamb Footwear required a safe environment for their staff to return to work as the Covid19 lockdown was eased. They wanted to ensure no one coming to their site had any Coronavirus symptoms.

The solution…

Smart Ideas worked closely with William Lamb Footwear to design a solution that would meet its requirements.

This included:

  • Thermal screening terminals at site entrances.
  • Facial recognition with forehead temperature reading.
  • Integration with existing access control points
  • Real time monitoring with high temperature email alerts

The system operation is simple, quick and effective to use. An employee presents themselves at the screening terminal which will carry out facial recognition and a forehead temperature check. Once this screening has been carried out and is successful the terminal signals the card access system to allow the employee to use their access fob to gain entry through the door. The whole process takes place in seconds and fully integrates with the existing access control system.

The thermal screening terminal combined with the existing access control now provides two step verification for entry adding another layer of security to the building.

The feedback…

“Smart Ideas install and maintain our site security system’s so we approached them to find a solution to our requirements. The team at Smart Ideas designed the system to our requests and once installed fine tuned the parameters to ensure the system operated to our exact requirements. The system works as intended and gives us peace of mind in these challenging times.”
